My Story
My name is Rachel Ramsey and I specialize in creative portraits. When I first discovered my love for photography it was through a YouTuber/Photographer named Irene Rudnyk. I would sit and watch video after video of her creating these beautiful portraits and my heart would long to do the same. I started to realize that I could create entire worlds and share those worlds with everyone around me through images. So after getting my degree in photography and training in private, I set out to find my place in the wide world of photography. At first, I took any client I could, trying my hand at events, weddings, families etc. And though I loved it all, I quickly learned that I would come alive when I had portrait sessions with creative freedom. This turned in to many many themed/styled shoots that I would rope my friends and families into helping me with. Suddenly I was not just taking pictures, but I was materializing my imagination, and I began to come alive.
When You Hire Me
Don’t let the title “Creative Photographer” scare you. Although I will always give my best to my clients I would never push an over the top agenda on anyone, when you hire me it is my job to make YOUR ideas and desires come to life, not my own. That being said, I will be very intentional to create the atmosphere you are wanting and offer ideas to take your photos to the next level.
Why I Do What I Do
Some people wonder why I do so many styled shoots when it makes me no money. First, I love what I do. Although photography is my career, I did not start to make an income, I started because I fell in love with it. I am not me if I am not creating. What I truly desire is to show the world all the ways I see this world and the people in it. Our imagination is infinite, and I will spend my days sharing mine with those who choose to join me. I do what I do in hopes to make you feel something, to bring you to a new place you thought you could never visit.
